K-pop sensation Lisa from BLACKPINK has released her latest single “NEW WOMAN” on August 16th, as announced by Sony Music Entertainment Korea. In a shocking turn of events, BTS member Suga has found himself at the center of controversy. The K-pop idol was booked by Seoul police on June 7th for violating traffic laws while allegedly under the influence. According to police reports, Suga was discovered fallen off an electric scooter in the Yongsan district of Seoul late on June 6th. Eyewitnesses claim the star appeared disoriented and smelled of alcohol when officers arrived to assist him. The incident has sent shockwaves through the BTS ARMY, as Suga is currently serving as a social service worker as part of his mandatory military service. Jin Hug event to hug 1,000 fans BTS member Jin has finally completed his mandatory military service and returned to his fans, known as the ARMY! Jin is the first band member to finish his service, and his fellow BTS members celebrated his discharge outside the military base in Yeoncheon, South Korea. BTS member Jean became a member of UNICEF Honors Club by exceeding KRW 100 million of UNICEF donations. The UNICEF Honors Club is a group of supporters who donated over 100 million won to the UNICEF Korean committee for children all over the world. Jean, who has donated a certain amount each month since May last year, agreed to announce becoming a member of the Honors Club as agreeing that "good influence grows as we divide it" spirit. BTS and its agency, Bighit Entertainment, have been running the Love Myself campaign with UNICEF from November 2017. Love Myself is a campaign to sponsor the Unisef #ENDviolence campaign to protect children and adolescents from violence around the world. Campaign messages will be disseminated through the UNICEF booth at the 'LOVE YOURSELF: SPEAK YOURSELF' world tour on the 1st and 2nd June at the Wembley Stadium in London, UK.
