40년 만에 돌아온 배철수의 소리 공명 

자신에게 생명의 터전이라 할 음악 실연(實演)과 그는 오랫동안 절연했다. 엄연히 라디오 디스크자키일 따름이지, 뮤지션 혹은 밴드의 일원이라는 자기소개는 애써 사양해 왔다. TV라는 주류와 제도에 록의 안착을 일궈낸 성과보다는 곡의 완성도와 앨범 예술성 제고를 위해 흘린 비지땀과 산고(産苦)가 늘 ‘무섭게’ 아른거렸다. 그럼에도 그는 끝내는 다시 감당할 수밖에 없는 음악가의 숙명을 기억했고 긴 방송활동 속에서 음악과 그 드러냄의 관계를 되묻고 새기면서 “표현이 재밌을” 나날을 기다렸다.

구창모와 재결집해 엮어낸 2022년부터의 송골매 콘서트는 음악 하는 것에 용기를 부채질했고 나이 앞에 담과 벽이 있을 리 없음을 일깨웠다. 돌아온 배철수의 이 앨범에는 통상적인 정상 등극, 수상, 흥행 성공에의 욕망이 붙어있지 않다. 활주로와 송골매 시절 연주하고 노래했던 로큰롤과 그에 의한 음악 정체성을 재현하고 싶었을 뿐이다. 40년이 흘렀어도 역시 그는 ‘스트레이트 로큰롤’ 순혈주의자이며 이에 관한 한 독창적 영역을 확보한 아이콘임을 다시금 절감한다. 시작점인 ‘세상 모르고 살았노라’를 비롯해 ‘처음부터 사랑했네’, ‘길지 않은 시간이었네’, ‘한줄기 빛’은 여전히 호기롭고 특히 ‘세상만사’의 보컬은 명경의 특급이다.놀랍다.

그는 로큰롤 영혼에 다시금 힘과 자유를 부여했다. 나이와 로큰롤의 대면을 이끈 것에, 가슴 밑바닥에 묻은 감정을 마침내 환기시킨 것에 자긍한다. 송골매, 로큰롤, 배철수의 재맥락화이자 후배와 후대를 향한 소박한 복창(復唱)이자 은근한 플러팅! 앨범은 그러면서 ‘라디오 전파의 영웅’인 동시에 ‘멋진 로큰롤 어른’이라는 인식 추가를 요청한다. 수긍할 게 생각보다 많다.

LP (Vinyl Record) Return Policy

NOTICE TO LP (VINYL RECORD) BUYERS:
LP (vinyl) records are absolutely non-returnable under any condition. The condition of an LP can be affected by various external factors, including but not limited to humidity, stylus pressure, and cleaning conditions.

• Defective or Damaged LPs:
  If your LP arrives damaged due to shipping, you must report the issue within 48 hours of delivery with clear photos of the damaged outer packaging and LP. Only in cases of severe, verifiable transit damage may an exchange be considered. Minor cosmetic imperfections, slight warping, or surface noise do not qualify as defects.

• Manufacturer Seals & Packaging:
  Any LP that has been opened, played, or had its manufacturer’s seal broken is strictly non-returnable. If a return is accepted due to an exceptional circumstance, the item must be in its original, sealed condition with no signs of use.

• Incorrect Items:
  If you receive the wrong item, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery for a resolution. The LP must remain sealed and unopened for any exchange consideration.
