Overall, the photoshoot concepts and shots are beautiful. The calendar is on the larger size for season's greetings with large photos. There's a folded calendar poster included which is a cool new addition. The diary is a nice surprise. Last year's was split into two books for each half of the year. This year's is a single book in hard cover. The photos are interspersed throughout, breaking up each month and other sections. Each week has a calendar view and task list with the opposite page having blank lines for diary entries which I find convenient. Some day I will find out why they always put graph paper in the diaries.
A couple of negatives stick out to me:
- The font sizes and faces are kind of small and illegible on the calendar/diary.
- The "making of" DVD is still only subtitled in Korean.
- The outer box construction is still cheap compared to some other SG's.
- The set of pencils is kind of cute but... who uses pencils in current year?
- The "paper perfume" (it resembles a car air freshener) is an interesting inclusion. It probably smells nice but I haven't gotten around to opening it. It is certainly unique I must say.
Overall, it is a pretty good product and it's a GFriend product and this is my third GFriend SG. It's not a bad product by itself, but compared to other SG's it appears to fall a bit short. I'm hoping Source Music improves the product for the future. But y'know, I'm going to preorder next year's regardless.
